  • oil filtre cross reference?

Can I use a Valvoline VF3614 oil filtre on my '89 carburetted Festiva? I've been searching the Internet but Valvoline doesn't seem to make oil filtres any more? The usual deal is you enter the make, model, and year on a retailer's website and it tells you what they have. I'd like to go the other way and enter the oil filtre part number and see what on which cars it can be used. Even if it fits my Festiva I suspect there may be springs or valves inside which are only work with some engines? I got this oil filter at a rummage sale today for $1 Canadian (about 80 cents US) and would like to use it rather than send it to the dump. If I can find out what car it fits and Festiva is not one I could pass it on to someone who can use it.

According to the quick interwebz search I just did the answer would be "No"

Use Fram PH3614 to find out.

Thanks for the responses. The Fram home page lets you search by Fram part number, competitor part number, or make and model of vehicle. That's what I was looking for. This filter looked about the right size but it's not for the Festiva. I'll offer it on FreeCycle.
