My battery was dead today. This is first time this has happened. I just relocated the battery into the cabin via some 1 gauge wire. Last time I drove it the charge light was on. I could not remember if it was on before so I wrote it off. The charge light came on near the end of my 5 mile drive I took today. Any ideas where I could have went wrong?

Alternator. How was the battery wired in?-Zack

I grounded the battery to the body behind the passenger seat, then I ran a 1 gauge wire from he battery to the power wires in the engine bay. THe alternator is charging the batteryComment

Original power wires attached to the 1gauge.
Had
Cut the post connectors out of engine bay and put in on the opposite end of the wire.
Engine is still grounded to the body, and the battery is grounded to the body.Comment

If you unclamp a battery post and put a bulb ( not LED ) test light in series does the test light light ?
Conditions include a charged battery, everything turned off and no dome light.Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig

Non led test light, on battery as control, then put in series, there was no light in series. Battery was charged enough to turn the car over without problem. Was still charged from over night because it was disconnected.
Crappy picture but the light was not on.

You have tests against one another. One drains the other runs the battery dead. Probably a bad battery but check it out. You have a lot of human interference that could change battery test results. Auto part store test says that the alternator is not regulating voltage. Which wires are responsible for this?Comment
