SO recently ( or probably since I have owned it) There is a lot of rattling noise coming from my hatch. It got worse when I had subs put in (obviuosly) but now it starts to resonate when my engine is at about 1600 rpm. My hatch latch is broken and disconnected so i taped down all the loose bits from that mechanism, The license plate was causing some so i removed it but it still persists. What do I do? Where can it be coming from? Holding the hatch shut extra tight or pushing it out from the inside seems to help.

Sounds like you need to get a new latch or repair the old. Is it the lock/release on the hatch or striker on the body?
The striker is a simple U attached to a plate which is held by two bolt. If it is the U portion broken or worn I might be welded and filed into shape.
If you can not find one in a junk yard,
Post in the For Sale/Want To Buy section of the forum. Someone will come back with one that they want to sell.
Check with William, if you are coming to the Lakestiva meet this weekend in Carlyle. He may have one and you could pick it up direct.
Good LuckI hate being Bi-Polar, it's awesome.
