  • Lots of heat around shifter/ drivers feet.

Anyone notice a lot of heat near the front of the drivers seat and around the shifter?

Mine gets pretty crazy hot right there. The air is at least another 15 degrees warmer there then in the rest of the car.

Kind of annoying when I don't have AC.

Did your heat shields rust off ? I don't notice it going to work but on longer drives I have felt a little..

I have some straight 2.5 inch exhaust from header all the way to some overly large muffler.

Maybe the pipe is so hot it's just emanating heat up?

I don't think there is a heat shield on it.

I might also recommend inserting a coolant bypass valve in the hose going from the engine block to the heater core.
It is hot inside the lower blower housing. I have disconnected my heater entirely and routed a by-pass hose.
        No heat now.
        Nice.

Heat shield..Makes it harder for the heat to get there.

Ignition timing..on the hot side less exhaust heat, retarded more heat and happy cali emmisions.

Fuel, slightly rich, less heat, lean burn more heat. Heat in the exhaust temps.

Slight miss fire lots of extra exhaust heat, make sure your tune is top notch !!

There has been some awesome stuff lately about insulating material under the carpet. Sound insulation is also temp insulation, an awesome 2 for oner!!
