ICEDAWG well the distributor was my problem and thank goodness i had an extra one.
That extra one was for the black festy before i knew that the parts were not exchangeable
so i guess it kinda worked out. Ever since then my car has been running just fine.
But i really need to get back to doing something the black festy.
Maybe this weekend i will upload a video to my youtube

Another great one in a stick car is when it dies at an intersection, and the instinct is to just crank the key!
A) Some cars have an interlock that makes you turn off the key, and THEN turn it back on & crank it
B) PUSH the CLUTCH PEDAL DOWN, Ghost Rider...
I don't think an all new harness is indicated - but you definitely want to get rid of any twisted together wires, wire nuts (like on your original spark coil) and any crimp-on connectors.
My personal belief is if you want a good wire connection it should be soldered together, and soldering isn't really hard to learn.
DO NOT us a solder GUN...
What you want is any decent soldering PENCIL type solder iron. I have a video that I'm going to link or set up to play directly here, I hope you benefit from it. It is the result of 20 years of electronics tech work in the US NAVY, and about 40 years of being a car nut:
