Can't find the connector to replug in new cooling fan

One of the last things I did to my Festiva last November was to take the fan and shroud off before parking in the shed for the winter. The fan proved defective and so I got another one and mounted it on the shroud. I spliced the female electrical connector onto the leads. Today I just got around to putting the shroud and new fan back in- with a new thermostat

and for the life of me I can't find the other side of the connector to re-plug into. This is driving me nuts! I checked the aspire- the harness seems to come from the passenger A/C side but I can't find the connector on a similar wire. I've taken the coolant reservoir off and even the battery out now- the job is done- and a hot one in 95 Florida heat- but I can't find the connector-

any suggestions? at this point frustrated and baffled- I even sorta recall unplugging it and assumed the connector was just hanging there. Now GONE-

My cooling fan harness is on the drivers side near the upper radiator hose.
