I removed my shifter knob trying to figure out the problem of shifting into gear with out braking. I think the rod coming up might be the issue along with the knob possibly keeping it depressed all the time. What's going on now is the button cannot be pushed in, but I could before. Took off the knob again and pushed on the rod while pushing the brake down and things moved. Left the handle off and no brake and it doesn't shift. Like it should. Is there a special way to put this knob back on?

If you thread it on too far it can hold the rod down. Also there's a cable that goes to the ignition area.-Greg
