91 Festiva motor shakes and wants to stall

Having issues with one of my Festivas, starts runs fine once it's warms up the motor starts to shake and when you give it gas and let off it almost dies. Where should I start?

If it is shaking because the idle is too low, check the function of the idle air control valve.

I have the same problem and i believe i know the valve your talking about, but how do i go about testing it?
