Has anyone used an ignition and ignition wiring from a 93 for an 88 ?

I just put a brand new kia ignition switch on my 89 Festy. Plug and play except that you don't have the "key in" warning and you don't get the instrument cluster "brake warning lamp test" function when the key is in the "on" position. The light still functions as always when the e-brake handle is raised or for low brake fluid. The 93 is same as what was on the 89, at least it looks the same."Blue92"- 92L 5 spd, original owner- 185K, B8,DD..
