  • Wires connected to ignition switch

I have 2 wires mounted to my ignition switch on both my 88 and 91 festiva

    They have no plug
One is green one is red

I cannot get the steering column separated from harness with out removing these.

Well i ripped the soder off of my nicer steering column connected to my efi harness

So i took the plastic box apart to see what to re soder and its just 2 copper progs that are spring loaded where they are always touching.

So my question is can i just wire the green and red wires togetherl or do i need to resoder them to the progs and put back under the column ?

If the 2 wires are green and red/white stripe connected to the plastic box, they are for the "key left in " warning.

That switch is normally open, so they can be capped, if you don't want the "reminder". I don't know how repairable it is anyhow.
