Try starter fluid. See if that ignites.

thanks for all of your input on this matter.. i have worked and owned these cars since 1995.. I HAVE CHECKED TIMING,SPARK,FUEL PRESSURE,TPS,MASS AIR FLOW, WIRING, RELAYS,EXHAUST, AND CANT FIND THE PROBLEM.. SO I GOT FRUSTRATED AND CHANGED,DISTRIBUTOR, MASS AIR FLOW METER,COIL,IGNTION MODULE,COMPUTER.. STILL NOTHING...... SHE WILL TURN OVER BUT WILL NOT FIRE UP.. PULLED PLUGS OUT AND THEY ARE FLOODED.. DRYED OUT PLUGS SHE WILL START FOR 1 SECOND THEN FLOOD HER SELF OUT.. PLEASE HELP.. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH TO OF MY 6 FESTIVAS... OH AND I AM IN NASHVILLE.. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME

What year , I have a 1988 and its having same problem and have only replaced fuel pump,fuel filter
and did tune up and now it drove for a couple days and now doing same thing and can't figure out the problem this makes my 4th Festiva i have owned and this is the first one to do this. Someone said could be some trash in the gas tank hose or sock .Have to get it towed I'm in Ga.Mechanic checked for spark and
it has that.
