  • quick question on changing trans mounts...

Hey guys, again sorry for posting this in general, but i have until 6:00pm of lift time to get my transmounts changed,

Whats the easiest way to do these?

Do i HAVE to pull the whole crossmember?
    thanks,
    Jason

You don't have to pull the cross member if you take out both trans mounts and the pass side engine mount you cam lift the engine and tranny with a hoist high enough to change the mounts

thanks man, ya perhaps ill try jacking up the trans with a hi-boy here on the lift vs pulling the crossmember, the nut broke inside the floor for the rear crossmember bolt, i put a big bolt and nut and its super strong, but i do no want to disturb it,..

thanks for mving the post back to where it belongs, all done!,

pain in the neck to get the back one in and out but not too too bad, iI would do it on a lift only like i did, forget on the ground.

removed the nuts on the mounts on the crossmember, jacked up the trans as high as it would go, (shifter linkage was hitting the floor,) this was with the top mount still in btw..

        front mount was a breeze..

Its GREAT to have a car with all new trans/engine mounts!, no more broken downpipes..
