Hi fellow festy lovers, I'm hoping someone can help me figure out a perplexing fuel issue I'm having with a 1991 festiva I'm working on. I've tried two separate fuel pumps, but both won't turn on when turning on the key. It's possible but unlikely both pumps are bad, can someone explain how to bench test a pump, and other trouble shooting of the entire system if the pump is working? Sorry for the non specific post, I'm using my phone. Thanks. Brenton

Check the wires for voltage, and if I remember right, you should be able to swap a relay out with the fuel pump relay, like the horn or a/c oneJoey Richard Jr.

oh oh and the switch in the back that kills the pump, the inertia switch. Black housing and red button I think. Should not have come out for no reason, but to just in case, make sure the button is pushed down.Joey Richard Jr.

Did you jump the test pin under the hood. The pump comes on while cranking and is triggered by the afm , you can also push in on the afm door to trigger it or even pull the little female spade connector off the starter and turn the key to the start position and the pump will run that way too.
Also check that the Inertia Switch in the rear is down.
