  • My Festy is leaking Transmission Fluid! - Help!

My Festiva has started leaking Transmission fluid. Its a very slight leak.. Takes over a week for an actual drip to form and longer for a small puddle.

The leak appears to be coming from somewhere towards the back of the transmission pan. How can i pinpoint exactly where the leak is coming from? and is there any way i can fix this myself?

Get under there, wipe it down real good. Drive it. Then get down and find WHERE exactly it is coming from. Different fixes for different leaks

    HINT: 3 areas of concern
    the axle seals
    the drain pan
    the input shaft

I assume this is an auto, as you said trans pan?

Put a strip of masking tape around the pan edges, the red fluid will show up real good against that as a background.

I think a fluid and filter change would be a good move though - replace the pan gasket outright. Also have a look inside.
That way you know it's all good to there - any further drips have to be from something else.

Most people don't drive what they want at all, and never will
