  • Where Does this go?

I'm putting the new engine in Rosie today and I need to know where this goes while the engine is still out.
I tried to find it on my 89 automatic and my 90 five speed but I cant find it. So it must be somewhere that would be hard to get to after the engine is in.
Can someone tell me where it goes?

I think that's a bracket that mounts on top of your auto trans to hold the shifter cable in place...

I did suspect that it could be related to the transmission shifter cable but can't find it on my 89.
The hole for the bolt look like it could maybe go on one of the transmission to engine attaching bolts.

That can be replace with a zip tie or put wherever you want.

It goes on the last bolt of the intake .( trans side )
It holds the oil pressure / charging system harness up .
New build on the way .

Thanks shadetree.. I found it on my 89 and also found the one you mean that is attached to the last intake bolt on the trans side.
This one is actually attached to the bottom bolt of the right motor support just above the alternator and it
does hold wires that go to the charging system.

True to a point... This little piece provides extra security for your charging system cables... protecting your cables so you can run longer.
