  • Ordering RockAuto Parts

Just an FYI when ordering parts from RockAuto.
When you get a part that is not as advertised, let them know so they can get it removed from their listing
so the same thing doesn't happen to some else. And when you know your are right and their listing is incorrect,
don't let them brush you off.
I ordered two parts on the same order this past February which did not fit my 1992 Automatic Festiva, Rosie.
It wasn't until the end of April that I discovered that the parts were not as advertised, which was beyond the 30 day return policy. But when a part is listed incorrectly in their catalog, then the fault is theirs and they will refund your purchase price and shipping, and will remove the part from their listing so someone else doesn't order the wrong part.
Today I just received a credit for the second incorrect part, the rear transmission mount. They confirmed with the manufacturer that the mount was too narrow to fit the Festiva automatic transmission. They will change their listing to show that it will fit only the manual transmission. They have already removed the vacuum modulator that was listed incorrectly from their listing.
RockAuto is a great place to order parts, but like everyone else they do make mistakes sometimes. In this case it was two mistake on the same order.

    Nice 'heads up', thanks.

So far parts I've ordered for various vehicles have been correct. But like you said, mistakes can happen.

I had the same problem with AutoPartsWay. They had one axle for both the automatic and manual transmissions. Naturally it was the automatic and I have the manual. When I found they sent the wrong axle it took me a while to discover why and a devil of a time getting a refund and getting their database fixed but bringing in a third party did it. Rock Auto now ships to Canada and I bought replacement shocks and struts from them no problem.
