95 Aspire Shifting problem

I have a 95 aspire, which might have a blown tranny, would a festiva 5 speed tranny fit into an aspire using stock mounts? The car is stuck in Reverse, clutch cable is in tact. and the shifter just swings loose. is that a shift linkage or not? or is it the tranny? thanks,

either the stabilizer bushing is destroyed on the trans , next to the shifter rod

or

the shift gate assembly is broken in the trans itself

how hard is it to repair the in transmission part? or is easier/cheaper to replace it? and will a festiva 5speed bolt right in with stock aspire mounts?

my gate was broken in 1st gear, i just swapped out the tranny myself for a pick-a-pary one for 75 bucks

Yes , it is the same tranny .
