  • Air Intake changes

Post pics and/or what have you done

I want to super-simplify as I can under the hood. Has anyone done an air intake?
I am trying to find on the forum here what are the silver sensors on factory airbox and can I or how can I just have simplified air filter-to-intake.

    Thank's 4 feedback

What silver sensor are you talking about? Do you have a picture?

The silver box above the air filter is the vane air flow meter/sensor. With out it the motor will run for about a second or 2 then shutoff.

That's the afm it tigers the fuel pump measures air flow and temp.
Its essential and has to be there with the factory ecu.
You can put a cone filter on it with an adapter if you want to remove the box .

Lightnings too fast .... beat me to it.

So has anyone done a simplified air intake? I'm going to remove the rectangular air intake Muffler small box that sits over the valve cover but we have this big sensor that's on top of the air box what has anyone done for a different air intake? Does anyone have any pictures?

That is the Air Flow Meter. There is a flapper door inside of it that tells the engine how much air is coming in, much like a Mass Aif Flow Sensor of newer cars. There are adapter plates that you can use to put a cone filter onto it and get rid of the old air box. You won't really get any more power from doing it but It will give you a louder intake sound.
