Is there a special tool for the dust cover's metal boot strap that goes on the rack n pinion ?
Just had it wheel aligned and don't want to remove tie-rod end again before inspection, on the way to inspection last week.
It has an after market generic dust covers on both sides, but one slipped fell off on the way to inspection.
So they failed the registration until the boot is back on. ( Inspector did not defect the car, fortunately, but he could have )
If these special strapping tool don't cost much, I'll buy one, Vs just going to a workshop and pay them to simply put on 2 metal boot straps.
Using the plastic cable tie method does not seem to tighten up enough, gets slippery with oil and slips off.
