Not sure what the top one is. The bottom one is part of the ignition and mounts on the same bracket as the coil.

I was thinking that maybe the top one might be for Power Locks or something? Whenever I bought the car there were a few boxes of parts in the back that came with it and I have just now started going through some of them. I found that I have an extra Fuel Inertia Switch if anyone is looking for one.

The bottom in the Ignition Control Module. Installed with white heat paste on the bottom, if it burns out, new ones are pricey. Save it. For EFI cars

I've completely stripped several Festivas and have never seen the top picture. But I agree that it looks like a latch popper.

The top one is the lockout servo for the auto shifter.
I would not have know either if I had not recently completed my Rosie project. After all the work cleaning up all the ATX parts and doing 3 ATX transmission installs, she is now a 5 speed and I'm happy about that.

That explains why I have never seen one, haven't stripped an auto car yet.

Lots of people disable them, so it's an item that is not in great demand. Had not really noticed it before but I just checked my shifter in Trixie and it's disabled.
