Thanks for the explanationion and yes we r pokin at ya a bit but do appreciate the info and "tuning" with intake or exhaust manifolds is not something ive ever really done, carbs more my thing as welding up a manifold would look like a 2 year old had done it! My welding is what i call farm welding, u know two things stuck together thats it! Now if it was a bolt on i could do that talk at ya later

I have another 1" B3 intake spacer, if any of you MPG guys are interested in trying it out. Made them a couple years ago when John and Arty were talking about it and I sent one to John but then the project kinda fizzled out.

Nate! Hook a brother up. I've been thinking about that mod for a few weeks now wondering what ever came of it. I'll do some AB testing.

Sweet. I'll bring 'em along to madness! I haven't had a running B3 car in probably 5 years or so... they aren't doing me any good.

Does the spacer introduce a better air fuel mix? Never heard of this...info please

Won't work for you Ed, these are for between the upper and lower of an EFI intake. The idea is to shift the torque peak of the intake into a more ideal rpm range for highway speeds.

Arty, I like your organic description of tuned lengths. I may use that one.

Be my guest, was the closest thing I could think of that would make sense and be relatable.

It's the centerline advance that's built into the cam. Helps build cylinder pressure at lower rpm.

First tank thru didnt give very good mpg but i did not do any adjustment to the carb or disty till today so we shall see, idle is definitely different, hopefully my adjusting will pick my mpg back up and beyond where i was at!

Newest results after cam install...adjusted disty and carb multiple times not sure what else to do with it but 44 mpg is the best i can get, i was getting better than that with stock is there something more i can do? If i go up on jet in carb im sure mpg goes down not what im wanting. On the verge of going back to the stock cam. Also idle is weird, idles good but sounds very odd. Also i am getting random car just dying, never had that before. Wish i knew where this mpg gain was, feeling very frustrated.

Something's wrong here. IDK what it is, but something's wrong.

I had no issue with running at all with the "MPG" cam, and it felt like a more even torque curve. Felt really nice, actually.

Never had random dying or odd idle either. I gave up on it, because it didn't help anything in my EFI car, but I never had an issue at all running it.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
