Thanks for your response I'm not concerned about the master cylinder you sent me I just want my car back on the road!!!
It just won't hold probably refers to it not holding pedal pressure. When I first bought my car I could bleed the brakes and get good pressure but as soon as I turned on the car I would loose most of my pressure. I didn't realize my Master Cylinder was bad until I took it off and painted it and then tried to bench bleed it to put it back on. At that point I realized the Master Cylinder was so bad that I couldn't get it to push any brake fluid out. Put a brand new one on from RockAuto and it fixed the problem instantly! Fixed it so well that once I got normal pressure I realized that my Distribution Block/Proportioning Valve was leaking and shooting brake fluid about 6 feet in the air...

Aspire will be the most direct swap, just be sure to get the NON ABS unit. The abs unit will NOT fit the booster.

Thanks for the input guys, 1990new I don't really want to do all that and I don't have the spot in my garage anymore lol. I have decided to just buy a new master cylinder. Thank you festyboy for the recommendation, I'm no expert but it seems the part that connects to the brake booster on the aspire MC has a rod coming out of it. are there any threads or info on the aspire master cylinder swap or is it too easy to require one?
here are the two links I'm comparing:
        festiva: http://www.cardone.com/Products/Prod...sn=630&jsn=630
        aspire: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...sn=756&jsn=756
will this MC fit onto a festiva brake booster?

You don't want that Aspire Master cylinder, that is an ABS cylinder although that's not how it is listed. You want one that looks like the one on the pic for Raybestos MC390211.

With all you have done to the brakes on that car I would put a new master cylinder on it too.
You can pick up one at AutoZone for less that Rock Auto Right now $39.99

you guys are awesome! I found that same master cylinder on amazon for $25 cheaper so I'm going to order it! this one if you want to see it https://www.amazon.com/Raybestos-MC3.../dp/B000C75NMG

Hopefully this will get here, I will install it, brakes will work, life will be good! Thanks again guys!

edit: quick question: how do I properly bend the brake line that attaches to the master cylinder port?

That link show it costing 95.42 and it doesn't appear to have the low fluid indicator.
You should not need to bend it much.. I usually just bend it carefully using two hands...as long as you don't try to do any sharp angles, it should not crimp.

That one appears to show the output connections on the bottom. I would not buy that one. When you do a fit check, is says it does not fit your Festiva.
If you have already ordered.. you should cancel the order while you still can.

yeah when I saw the page it said 1 left so I bought it for about $61 and now it is at that higher price. All I did was look up the part that was recommend: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...sn=757&jsn=757 should I cancel my order then? Do I need the low level indicator? I could just check myself right?

Yes I would definitely cancel. Rock Auto has been wrong before and they could be wrong now. I would get the one at AutoZone. Cost less, return is easy and it will do the job just as well. Yes you do need the warning light in case you brake fluid leaks out.. and if you have no where to plug the wire in it will just be left hanging.

It may be that they are consolidating the castings, the escort MC and protege MC both have those extra bung extensions. Some models use them, others are cast shut. The big issue is how it mounts to the booster, and in this case, it does.

One problem is that the Amazon seller has an 85% rating and the Amazon fit checker says the part does not fit the Festiva.. I would be very wary of buying this part from this seller. He can just point to the fit checker and say sorry.. your mistake. Also he has now raised the price to $95 for the part. Warning signs are all there.

I think I am going to take my chances with this one as I snagged a cheap ish price and it is guaranteed delivery by friday. I saw in the escort gt MC swap thread that he plugs the bung extension you are talking about. If it works I have a driving car! That's the goal right now!

Several fit checkers say it does fit the Aspire so if FestYboy says it will bolt right up to the Festiva you can count on it. Just hope you get the right one with all the holes in the right place. Good Luck.

So I got the master cylinder and had the shop put it on and was supposed to get it back today. They called and said everything is installed and ready, but they could not bleed the front brakes because the bleeder screws rusted and broke off (they have been like that since I got the car) They said the pedal works now, but they don't recommend driving it because they wouldn't trust it. So should I get new front calipers or is there something else I can do?
