Violent jerking after getting off expressway

Hello new festiva owner here. I have a 93 5 speed. Sometimes just when it feels like mostly after getting off the expressway from my commute to school it starts jerking hard. If I through it in neutral and rev it up it is fine and feels smooth. As soon as I through it in gear and start to accelerate it becomes extremely choppy and well jerky. Any help would be appreciated very much this is my only car and I drove to and from school everyday about 80 miles or so.

Im guessing its a automatic from the way you described it.

Does it start to shutter and jerk right before you come to a complete stop, or does it shutter when you accelarte?

How many miles are on it? I would suggest having the transmission flushed, and new fluid put in first.

its a 5 speed manual and it feels like it's missing but just when you gear. If I rev the engine in neutral it sounds fine but if it's in gear it will sometime miss and in the process jerk the hell out of you and the car. It never stalls and it idles great.

check tranny fluid, could be low i dunno bout manuals doing this tho but when i bout my aspire the gremlin sat for 2 months and the tranny seal went bad, and was leaking fluid out slowly, when i would go to drive it it would act like it was put into nuteral and got bak home and added fluid and it stopped. so could be somthing as simple as that =)

ok guys and gals I seriously need help now. It's getting a lot worse. It seems like the engine misses or something when accelerating and even sometimes when just cruising. It happens when the engine is warmed up mostly. I live in Michigan and it's freezing out right now so before it gets even colder what should I check and what can I do. Please help Im freakin desperate here.

You may want to check this thread and carefully look at each of my post in here .Then see if this is the same problem you have .Then you can double check your componets .
