  • valve cover question

    New to the board. Howdy.

A simple question from a simple man:

I've got to replace the valve cover gasket (bought a felpro). I noticed the valve cover bolts have black washers/spacers (either plastic or hardened rubber - I can't tell). The ones on my car are all crunched & broken, either from age, wear, or over-torque, I dunno. So the question(s) is/are:

Do I need to replace those, can I just pick em up at Autozone, and is there a specific thickness required for the bolts to sit right?

Look forward to many more thought-provoking questions such as these from me in the months to come. Thanks.

    Tom.

the felpro gasket set VS50309R shows the little washers in the set. i would say its best to replace so you have no place for a leak to start.
