shift lock solenoid

My 3 speed auto wouldn't come out of park yesterday, and it was 2 days after completely pressure soaking the interior to wash out coffee and salt from last year, I suspect the shift lock solenoid got a lil wet and was sticking because after wiggling shift and swearing alot, it came out of park finally and hasn't been a problem since, but in case it acts up again, does anyone know where it is, is it just under the gear shift on the floor?
