    according to ford parts book it is the one for all 90-93 with or without PS. it matches the one on my 92 gl.

      Don't rely on the sight glass when charging the system with 134a. You really should always use a manifold hose set.

          If OEM for Factory Air, it should definitely be 14mm connections, so it will fit. It's been on the shelf for a long time, but should have been filled with Nitrogen and still sealed.
          This should be the last component that you install and the sealing caps should only be opened just before you install it. If there is no pressure inside when you unseal the caps, it would essentially be usless for moisture absorption though and should not be used.

            the box the M.C. drier came in was like new and factory stapled. there is no apparent date code on box or drier. fittings are covered with tight fitting rubber caps but i'm not pulling them till i actually need to install. theoretically, even if air has seeped into the drier it could be removed by the application of vacuum for a period of time since it hasn't yet been saturated with system oil. this will not work for all desiccants and i don't know what type mazda had.
            personally, i would not even consider using 134a. the capacity of R134a to absorb heat is less than R12 per unit of volume circulated, decreasing the capacity of the system. if bubbles/foam show in the sight glass, this means the expansion valve is being fed a mix of liquid and vapor, not the best scenario for maximum heat transfer from the interior to the evaporator.
            i've had good results using some of the blend R12 alternatives. you still need to remove all traces of any R12 in the system and read up on any blends you might consider for any special instructions with regards to oil or seals but pretty much any of the blends will outperform R134a.
