  • Shift linkage bushing

Hello everyone. There is a LOT of play in my shifting and now my car is getting hard to shift.

So I take a gander under the car I see that the stabilizer bar bushing has totally disintegrated and the shift rod bushing looks intact but there is a lot of wiggle room in the connection.

Exactly what parts am I looking for to fix this. I have searched the site and I have come up empty as a specific conclusion.

    Thanks for any help.

You can look up "Sloppy Shifter" I believe for a few fixes.

Protege Bronze Oil Shifter Bushings -Machined to much closer tolerances than the original ones, these shifter bushings will eliminate sluggishness

Those are regarded as some of the best.

And that is a solution using a different hardware method. OEM Bushings can also be found somewhere.

This was by far the easiest and best repair I've done on Teala so far. Install was quick and easy. I feel like I'm driving a sports car now.

Thanks again to Jessee for helping me out.
