  • How do i remove this peice???

Hey guys, i'm getting set to get my car on the road and i have never taken this peice off before and dont really see how to remove it. Its the metal grille that is just under the windsheild. Under it is the wiper arm mechanism. The board member jumboshrimp has been awesome and i'm stripping a bunch of parts off his rotten parts car before it is sent to the wrecker and i would like to grab this part.... Here is a pic ..... Mine looks like it drove thru a driving range lol! If i have to do it when the windsheild is out that is no problem... I will be replacing it.

Take off fenders and hood, drill out spot welds. Weld new one back in

Can this be done with the windsheild in? Or does the windsheild have to be out?

Man, if I have to do that maybe I just won't ever have wipers.

Never looked all that close. I just saw the welds behind the fender and decided not to replace mine.
I would guess there are welds behind the lower windshield trim. If you remove it and have a look you could see if you can drill em out with the windshield in. If so Harbor freight should sell a cheap resistance spot welder.

The wiper motor and arms can be removed from the plate on the firewall.

It's not a bolt on part.

The whind sheald and dash needs removed.
I've removed one from my parts car.
If your getting one from a junk yard use a drill bit and drill all the way threw no need to save the underlay panels.
For the car that it's going on to use a belt sander to grind threw the top layer , Just the cowl.
Then just mig weld it on.
A hook tool and a stud welder will straighten up yours with less work them replacing it.

Thanks so much guys. I think if it is that involved i will just keep that panel on there and if i paint my car down the road get a body shop to straighten it out.
