I still can't find any air leaks. Disconnected break booster and transmission vacuums and plugged them off, no change. I still can't check timing. All grounds are tight and clean.

If there are no air leaks, the other end of the condition would be a fuel problem like dirty injectors or faulty sensor signals (VAF, coolant, map). But, the IAC function is still an unknown, as is timing and mechanical conditions. Have you checked for codes?
When I'm good I'm very, very good and when I'm bad I'm HORRID.

^^ Fuel injector cleaner might be all it needs?

          Sounds like iac to me.
I disconnected my iac without issue just turn up base idle
I left my hoses intact on the iac as it was stuck closed .
Just unplugging it. I've had them stuck on before and just unplugged it and plugged off the hoses.
When it's really cold you may have to hold your foot on the gas for a minute if not it will idle low and ruff.
Sorry if I missed it but have you turned up the idle with the screw on the side if the tbody, it was originally under a little rubber plug but most have shrunk and fallen out.

Are you still willing to try a few things before parting with a lot of money?
-unplug spark plug wires one by one while its running. Maybe youll have to do it while revving it a little. Check to see if there is one or 2 cylinders that arent firing as strongly.
-Can you do a compression test and/or a leakdown test? That will tell you if you have a broken valve or something.
-you have tryed changing your ignition timing right?
-have you bought a can of sesfoam to spray in the intake while its running? Try it if you havent. my last festiva had a lot of blowby and after it drank a lot of oil through the intake it would idle bad. Seafoam sprayed in the instake while running fixes that for a while. Also check airbox for oil. Mine would have oil run into it. Could mess stuff up. While your at that take off the accordian section of intake tubing and inspect the underside for cracks. Thats the most common spot. Maybe it was missed with your alcohol.

-you did clean with solvent and sand all 5 main ground connections right? I still think your 6volts is a big problem. That should never happen.

I Hadnt seen your video before, sorry. You do have enough oil in the engine right? It didnt all leak or burn out?

I hadn't thought to check compression, it runs great, just won't keep up the idle under a load. Ran seafoam through the gas and through the vacuum, hadn't tried through the full intake system. I think the voltage drop was likely just poor contact with the voltmeter trying to reach across from alternator to battery by hand. I tried adjusting the timing a little with out any luck. I think the biggest concern in all of this is that I can't ground out the wire to bypass the computer controlling the timing without killing the motor. I'll try some of this stuff here these next few days because I really don't want to bend over for the dealer just so I can smack my forehead when they tell me what's wrong.

Oh, it doesn't use much oil at all, maybe leak a little, maybe half a quart. between oil changes. And I didn't take apart the grounds as they were all solid tight and clean.

Something else I remembered that I thought was odd. With it the car breathing through the filter box (electrical still hooked up to it just not connected to their body) the car would start but quickly die. It would not run unless I hooked it back up to the breather. I had swapped out the breather from another running car.

Well yeah, the fuel pump is triggered through the VAF. The air flow causes the van inside the VAF to move and that triggers the fuel pump relay.

You must do a compression test and verify the mechanical timing before doing anything as that information will direct the diagnosis.

I've already verified the mechanical timing hasn't done a compression test though. I did notice a little oil in the breather tube. Ran seafoam spray through the throttle body and ran some through the inlet going to the idle control valve. I can turn the AC on now without hurting the idle, but it still dogs when I put it in gear. If I turn ac on and try to put in gear it did stay running barely with a bad knock and ping. So minor improvement.

Looks as if you will be pulling the head soon looking for a blown head gasket or valve leakage.

Oil in the breather tube normally indicates blow-by in the cylinders.
