  • Bad cam wear...

Salvageable... [emoji106] or [emoji107]? This is the head I just pulled off my B6T. The intake cam and journals are is about the same condition.

It looks bad however if you measure the bore size and the journal you may find the clearance acceptable. Brave got it right (as usual) determine the cause. Lack of maintenance? Low quality oil or filter? Previous owners of course.

The lobes look good. Is there such a thing as shims for the bearing surfaces?

Obviously you can replace the cams. If its the surfaces machined into the head that concerns you as far as I know you will need to replace the head or find a machine shop that can make inserts for the bores. There was an online Capri site that had free access to '91 to '94 Capri factory service manual. I had it saved on my computer as a favorite but one of my house guests seemed to have deleted it. I can't seem to find it now. Anyone know the exact name of the site?
