So my festiva was over fueling and causing a stall and no start condition. After the gas would evaporate it would start and happen all over again. After contemplating doing an escort/Weber carb and realizing my fab skills would hold me back from doing it without some help I went the stock rebuild route. Rock auto has a kit for just over $30 bucks. I also ordered a valve cover gasket, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air and fuel filter since it was going to b easy to access want the intake was off. Last night I got the carb completely off and disassembled except for the seat which I was able to will of today. Didn’t strip anything or break any vace lines which is amazing considering my luck. The rebuild kit from rock auto is pretty complete but there is a filter on top of said seat that is pretty much disintegrated. The kit did not come with said filter and I don’t really no where to find it. I think this was the culprit of my needle not seating, hence the rebuild. I was thinking I could just add a small filter right before the carb in it’s place and leave that one out all together?
Any advise would be appreciated,.
I’ll upload pics later
