  • Wire harness simplify. HELP!

Hi, I have a ‘93 Festiva that I have stripped and I want to
cut the engine harness down to the bare essentials and remove
    anything that I don’t need. It’s quite a job but I feel like it’s
possible with some help. I’ve been looking for wire diagrams
and pinouts online with no luck. Does anyone know of a place to
get good diagrams of the wiring harness, and also, is anyone able
to list the systems and sensors I need? Any help or attempts at help
    is greatly appreciated.
    TIA -JDP

Let's try again. Strange, it verified for me the first time.

          89 is almost the same.

Pride circuits. Options we never got.

Joshua, if you intend on keeping the computer, your check engine light will always be on when you start disconnecting stuff.

The dash and gauge cluster are being removed. I’m only running a temp and rpm gauge wired independently. The coolant temp sensor for the computer will be hooked up. I think I’ll be able to sort through what I need and don’t need with the diagrams in the book. But any input or advice will only help.

              Thanks for the quick help!

Thanks bravekozak for the link, it’s going to really help me through this. I bought a ‘89 carbed 4 speed for $500 when I was 18. As many of us know..what a great first car! I loved it. I’ve had 2 since, a ‘89 fuel injected, and a 93 which is what I have now. It has parts from all 3 on it but the origional computer and wiring. This car ran the races last year, sat, critters got to it, and I’m left with a mess to figure out in a week for the race coming up. I’ve decided to remove any wiring I don’t absolutely need. I’m working on it right now and after this sentence i am going to snap a pic to try to attract to this post. Lol
Thanks again brave. Any other input anyone has is still greatly appreciated!

Next time get a fresh pack of Bounce before you put it away.
                Critters hate it.
I removed my computer, threw away most of the wire associated with it, repurposed some wires for idle up, choke light and tach signal fuel cutoff. I added a lot of extra wiring for power door locks, power windows, power antenna, cruise control, courtesty lights, lighted vanity visors, etc.

                Good luck.
