  • 5 spd Seals

What is your favorite why to remove the two halfshaft seals from the tranny?
Trans is out of the car.

I have never done it but my guess would be to use a hooked pick.

Yeah... My first Trans that I pulled was battling me for an hour and then I found one 10mm bolt holding the dust cover on.

I have a special seal puller, yes they do make such a thing, but I used to carefully drive a small screwdriver between the seal and the housing at 12oclock 3oclock and 9 oclock the seal will now be to small to hold itself in the bore and will pull right out.Use some common sense driving in your screw driver driving towards the seal not the housing, etc. v

I have used a large flat blade screwdriver and pried them out numerous times with no damage to the transmission.

A medium pry bar with a 45 degree end works well, but be careful not to gouge the case.

I should have been a little more specific or read a little more, this is my go to on any dificult to remove seal, like if they are stuck or tiny or have a shift shaft or other obtacle running through the center. But if they just pop out ,then there's no need to make an easy job harder. Sorry.
