I am sorry for the absence, since making this post I actually enlisted in the Air Force and still in technical training here in Mississippi. It has been awhile since you asked for my results, so you may have found a solution already, but maybe somebody could use the answer. I ended up actually just plugging the line from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold, and that actually fixed my fuel pressure problem, and made it run perfectly normal. I actually just ran this set up for about a month daily driving it with a plugged regulator .This is definitely not the way to do it since the fuel pressure remained constantly at the high end, and did not fluctuate at all, but it was a good way to figure out what my problem was. I finally did just replace the FPR, which then solved my issue.
