1991 festiva L trans question

Alright so I have a 1991 festiva L bought it knowing it had transmission problems the problem I'm running into is i don't know how to detirmain the difference in a 4 bolt or a 3 bolt and the closest one to me is 3 hours away any knowlage on how to tell the difference would be greatly appreciated thanks!!

Crawl underneath and have a look. There is a crossmember supporting the transmission. It either has 4 bolts or 3 attaching it to the frame of the car.

So it has 4 bolts attacking the CM to the car so that would be considered a 4 bolt thank you for the help

Never heard of a 3 bolt cross member. Any festiva trans will work 4 speed or 5speed . Both will bolt right in. If your cars an auto I can't help you there never had or even worked on an auto car.
