i just got a gauge cluster with a speedometer and tach to replace my old one that only had a speedo. how do i remove the gauge cluster from my car without breaking stuff? is there any way to keep my old odometer? is there anything that i should be concerned about when putting my new cluster in? is there a plug already behind the dash for the tach or am i going to have to do some wiring? my car is a 1991 Festiva L with a 5 speed. thanx for your help

its not a hard mod at all...
This link has pics of where all the screws are that you have to take out to get the cluster out and reroute the speedo cable to the side of the cluster so it will plug in (again, not very hard to do)

In answer to the question about tach wiring, the tach wires are already in the two plugs that go into the back of the cluster. Just plug them into the new cluster and its ready to go![/url]
    No festiva for me ATM...

ok never got a straight answer on that one. i have two festivas. an L with the 4spd man. and an lx with a 5 speed + tach. Both are 88's. i want to swap the cluster with the tach into my L model. do i just connect it like i would the original or not. Are they directly inter changeable.

Switch away. They are a direct swap.

unless it's an early '88. some did not come with a tach wire.
