Is an aspire tranny a perfect match for a festiva tranny? I need a new five speed and wonder if they match up w/o modification to mounts or any anything else.

Looks like it will work , unless there is something I am missing .

I looked thru some old threads and found where some had put a Festiva trans in a Aspire , same engine .It should work OK vice versa .

Supposedly, they bolt right up. However, the final gear ratios are slightly different. The Aspire is slightly lower because of the additional weight of the car. Good Luck finding a good 5 speed - I got one from a Yard and it was bad. I winded up putting in a four speed while mine are being rebuilt (the original and the one from the yard). I presently have somebody interested in buying one of them, but if he falls through I'll let you know - (he has first dibs). There is a place in Las Vegas that sells rebuild units for $900 and when I posted a call on the junkyard hot line, the cheapest price I got was $450 for one that was "good". That is why I'm rebuilding what I got. Apparently, the tranny is what typically ends these great little car's life.

The guts of the trans are the same but the cases are different. I had to switch the cases.
