  • I can't figure it out.

All that's left is the pump on the carburetor, it acts like everything is fine and then a few days later it hardly runs again, I can't hardly even get it home it is so starved for fuel and then all of a sudden after I work on it it snaps out of it and runs for days again just perfect, then it does it again, I guess I am going to have to park it for the winter.

filter clogged? Leak in the fuel line? Bad gas? clogged intake on the pump?

The intake on the pump on the carb might be it but I don't know how to fix it except put another carb on, I have one but its so cold now and working outside, I may pull the intake manifold and the carb off the parts car tomorrow or in a few days though. That carb has a lot of stuff going to it.

If your fuel level is low, it will happen more often. I let my tank air dry, and then I vacumed the tank out, and It ran fine, hope this helps, john

I thought this was a carbed unit?
              Meaning no pump in tank?
Only the injected ones had a fuel pump in the tank.

I was able to run my 90 Festiva for 2-3 miles then all power just ran out and it would stall. Shut it completely down and off for a 60second count. All was fine, fired right up and then after 2-3 miles same thing. New pump with strainer is what was needed; the psi without running should be at 60psi , mine before the repair was 10psi.
