Transmission fluid question

I'm at my moms house changing a driver side CV axel and I was wondering how much fluid a 88 4 speed manual holds. I left my Repair manual in my other festiva conviently at my dads house.

Also is there a "better" choice for transmission fluid or are they all the same?

By the way I did do a search.
