I finally got the brake lines done on the 88 I picked up so now it's safe for a test drive. This thing won't start without ether first but then runs pretty well for having sat so long. There is no gas squirting into the carb when I actuate the accelerator hence the suspected bad accelerator pump. I was poking around looking for it, all the ones I've ever seen are somewhere on the outside of the carb but I couldn't seem to find this one. Is it inside the carb where I have to take it off to find or service it? Of course I plan to run some heet through the tank before I get too carried away. The manual doesn't go into the carb much. Thanks.

I am not real familure with a carb'd Festy, but are you sure it has gas in the bowl .
Usually a accel pump gives a little indication when it is on it's way out .

Hi. The accelerator pump is, looking at the engine from the front of the car, on the left rear of the carb. I believe that is is called an enricher, for what that is worth. It sucks fuel in from a small hole in the bottom rear of the fuel bowl. That can be plugged. Hec, could be plugged in several spots. The diaphragm could also have a hole. Can't remember if it can removed while the carb is on the engine. I had my carb off so many times I was getting good at it.
Hope this helps.
