Any Ideas (Headlight and heater Problems)

I just had a problem with my low beam headlights not coming on. I jumped in the Festiva one night to go into town and no low beams. the next day I tore into the steering column and trouble shot the switch...which was good and the fusible links and everything else suggested in this Forum.......turns out both the low beams were burned out of the bulbs...and it seemed to happen at the same time. You think I would have noticed if one had been burned out for a while....since I park with my lights shining on the Garage door all the time. Hope this helps...sometimes the most obvious solution is the most overlooked...LOL
