  • looking for cv joint repair tips

my 93 is starting to click when i turn right .
it has 100 000 miles and the last 10 000 are mine.
so instead of letting it blow up somewhere on the road i want to get parts lined up and change them both.
rebuilt units are the way i want to go but is there any things i should change when i have it all apart??
also when pulling them from my auto tranny do i do 1 at a time or both ??
i heard that stuff falls apart when both axels are out??

    any tips would be great

You may want to replace the output shaft seals on your trans-axle at the same time and since the fluid will come out anyway change it too!
As for replacing both at the same time: it is a judgment call, is the other side boots cracked up? or any play in the shaking of the CV shaft? ( not in & out) as for removing both at the same time: not recommended, unless you want to become good personal friends with the inner workings of your trans-axle (LOL) do one side at a time! and also check your ball joints and tie rod ends while you are there.
