Festiva/Aspire

I have a 93 festiva and would like to put an Aspire motor in it (94-95) is this possible as a straight forward swap? I know that they both have a 1.3L ,and will it mate to a 5sp tranny and will the ignition and computer be the same??

Same engine, same computer, same tranny...it'll work.

There's a few small differences. I'm sure someone that knows everything will chime in.

The aspire uses sequential multi-port fuel injection. It has a cam position sensor and coil built into the distributor.

But it can be done.

If you intend on changing the motor, would you consider the 1500? It was available as an upgrade on the aussie aspire and could provide you with a little extra oomph if you needed? Do you guys have them in the states?
