  • Trouble getting OBD codes

    Ok Try again (better discription).

Have a 1998 Ford Festiva Trio (Kia Aspire rebadged for Australia).

It has a 20 pin OBD connector, I found a site that told me to short pins 19&12 together and then put a multi-meter between pins 11&5 to read the codes.

One problem with that....no pin located in position 5, it's vacant.

Anyone know correct pins to use? [/img]

yeah if its is a 98 that would make it a Ford Aspire over here, and you should just beable to plug in the odb tester from your local mechanic, of course I don't know if yours is ODBII but it should be.

I already own a code scanner but has the standard DTC OBDII plug. I've been unable to find an adaptor to allow it to connect to the 20pin Kia connector, frigin searched everywhere. That is why I'm looking into the above method.

Servo might be an option if I get manual codes or an adaptor.
