  • Fuel Gauge

My fuel gauge is not working properly, does anyone know where I can get a new sending unit (wires are wore off of the rheostat). I have done numerous searches on the internet to no avail.

they pop up on ebay occasionally, but other than that you're probably stuck looking in junkyard... I can check for one next time I goto the yard, they have a couple of EFI festies and three carbed ones. Lemme know what kind you have, I can probably get one for $5 if they have any decent looking ones there
    No festiva for me ATM...

I am not sure about getting a used one, would rather have a new one if possible. There seems to be a problem with the unit, many post on here about units not working and I also have a friend with a bad one.

Get an autometer gauge to replace it, that would be pimp.

The autometer guages are way cool but that is not where the problem lies, it is the sending unit that is bad.

My car was a carbed 89 that had a bad sender, windings were also worn off. I pulled a sender from an EFI 91 parts car and was able to replace just the rheostat windings piece. The parts were almost exactly the same except for the wiring, I just had to solder the green? wire back on I think. Works great.
