Are you talking about removing trans from a festiva?

ya you wouldn't have, i just uploaded it like 20 seconds ago haha. Okay the deal is im buying a new transmission for like 350$, and i need to take out the old one and put the new one in. Do i gotta take out the engine block and take off the front end to do this or is there a simpler way?

$350! Yikes, that seems expensive. Is it a rebuilt automatic or what?

Its actually about 400$ with shipping n warranty, but its a rebuilt guaranteed warrantied blah blah, from a big name around here.
i called 3 local places, and even 1 close to the capital of my province and they didn't have any. only other place that had one wanted 450 for 1 from their scrap heap.
The deal with the one in the car right now is fourth gear pops out, the bearings in it are going i guess.

It's actually pretty easy to remove the transmission(if you are good and everything goes well, you can do it in about 30 minutes). No you don't have to remove the engine. The axles, starter, speedo cable, and a couple wires come off, but that's about it(I'm probably forgetting something, it's been about 10 years since I've pulled one). I believe you do loosen a couple motor mounts to lower the engine a bit, but it doesn't come out.

Pick up a shop manual at the auto parts store and it will walk you through it.

Yeah i know what u mean by pricy tho, but its the only one i can find. i came so close to having a 100% perfectly running low KM new transmission 92 Festiva, but it was sold the day before somone told me
I gotta do an overhaul of this, everything, transmission, paint, engine, spark plugs, mod chip. But i only got 1 week to do it all, and thats march break so i need to gather all the info i can before i go to the garage to do it.

You don't need to pull the engine, just support it. Pull both wheels, pinchbolts, remove axles, all bolts from trans to the engine, starter, unplug wires on trans, mounts and crossmember. OK what'd I forget?

How crappy are these ECU chips, because i've heard that most of the time it is the result of idiots who can't install them properly, and don't call the business to get proper instructions.
