  • BROKEN CAMSHAFT

Hey guys, any thoughts on what will cause a camshaft to break?

I ask because I've been offereed a B6 with a broken cam, but everything else appears to be fine.

Yep, the b3 is a free running, non-inerference engine.

Cool. It seems the cam broke right near the pulley. The owner was worried that he'd maybe bent a valve or scarred a piston, but everything seems to be fine in that regard.

I'll be making the 1.5 hour drive on Saturday to pick it up, along with the ecm, harness, and alloy wheels. (86 626) I should be able to buy the whole mess for $75!
