Lowering the engine a few inches

I may need to lower my engine an inch or two to hit on the crank shaft pulley screws with an impact driver. Is this possible? What would i need to disconnect and such? The CV shafts? can i just put a jack under the oil pan and go from there? I have no clue, i have never attempted something like this. any help much appreciated.

Put the jack under the oil pan and remove the motor mount. Then lower the engine as far as you need.

the 2 phillips head screws in the pulley are production (assembly line) aides and do not need to be replaced when u reassemble the pulley. if u can get a dremel in there with a grinding stone and take down the heads the rest should be easy.

do i just need to remove the passenger side mount? thats it? Or am i gonna twist something trying to lower it like that.

just the mount. 3 nuts on the block and the cross bolt on the rubber part. The only issue I've ever had was on a car with a very rusty catalytic converter. The flange was damaged during the engine movement.

perfect! i got a friend coming over with his good jack in a few minutes, and were gonna try this. (my jack is screwed, its gurgling fluid and such, and it cant lower smoothly)

I don't even have to worry about the cat because i have the exhaust system taken all apart! (only the downpipe is still on)
