b3/b6 starter interchangability

hay guys, I was just wondering if there is a difference between the two starters for the b3 and b6. The b6 starter that came with my new swap engine looks sketchy, and I suspect the donor engine has over 300 000 on it so I'm thinking about just using my b3 starter, which seems to work very well and has only about 175 000

it all depends on what trans you're going to run. If you're using the B6 trans, you will need the B6 starter, but if you're sticking with the stock trans you will have to use the B3 starter. Which starter used is determined by the transmission, not by the motor itself

oooohhhhh! cool, i'm using the 3 speed auto thats in the car now, so the existing starter in the car now will be used, do the starters have the same current rating?
