  • manual trans. fluid fill?

    i have to change an axle and im just wondering if theres a designated spot to fill the tranny with fluid. last time i just pulled the speedo gear and filled it there. also what type of fluid is the correct type to use and how much of it? i used type F last time.
    1993 5 speed FI. 2-5/8" tach, short throw, muffler delete. SOLD
    1993 5 speed FI. A/C! muffler delete, 2-5/8" tach, 5% tint, 14" alum. wheels, JVC head unit, 2 MTX 10" subwoofers. 195K
    2000 Trans Am 6 speed
    1997 HD 1200 sportster

    the spedo gear is the designated fill spot :?

      Synthetic ATF is my recommendation for a fluid.

      2.6 quarts.

          I second that.

          My first Festiva ground a bit in 2nd and shifting was a bit rough.

          When I removed the 15 year old gear oil and replaced it with Royal Purple synthetic ATF, the grind went away and shifting was smooth as silk.
